Titleist Tips: Your Playbook for Stopping The Slice
Titleist Tips: Your Playbook for Stopping The Slice
In golf, there is no problem more common than the slice, a shot that curves excessively from left-to-right(for a right-handed golfer). The slice tends to be more prevalent among golfers with higher handicaps, but as Titleist staff members Cameron McCormick and Corey Lundberg share in this video, all golfers, regardless of skill level, are challenged to some extent by shots going to the right.
The reasons why highly skilled players miss shots to the right are a little different than the issues that plague less skilled golfers, but there is one fundamental root cause behind all shots that miss right – the club face is turned too far open at impact (pointed to the right for a right-handed golfer).
The good news, as Corey and Cameron demonstrate, is that there are several plays that you can add to your playbook to square your club face at impact. Whether you suffer from a true banana slice that robs you of control and distance or you're an expert player who suffers from the occasional surprise miss-right, try Cameron and Corey's strategies and eliminate those errant flares to the right for good.
